Maxwell and Mabel have just moved in,
They dug the perfect burrow,
The very next morning they both woke up,
To find some unwanted fellows!
 
Three gulls and a seal had joined thier space,
"They're virtually taking over"
"Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so huge!"
"They're hardly a small ringed plover!"
 
Lovely chunk of driftwood, with tactile smooth edges shaped by a life at sea! Now cleaned, sealed and housing a selection of  little handmade clay birds and a seal.
 
The birds include two puffins and three black backed gulls and in addition there is a grey seal. The piece is completed with miniature flora and forna. 
 
Whilst this might be utterly exciting to children it sadly is not a toy and is intended solely as a decorative ornament for adults! (who lets be honest, will be as excited as a child to own such a thing of beauty!!).....just to add, this item is not for eating!

This item is a complete one of a kind, that can never be replicated because the design is fully dictated by the wood, which is a wholly natural product, chiselled by a life at sea. This, I find, adds a beautiful element to every piece, as each has had a life prior to it becoming part of my work, and their form, shaped by their journey enhances each creation.
 
Just to add, we are not able to identify the type of wood further than to say it is drift wood found on a UK beach.
