The Selkie Isle's are magical,

Their stories full of folklaw.

Of velvet beast,

who walk with feet,

When'ere the touch the shore.

Their feathered friends they flock here,

With mystic and with grace.

The pull is strong,

Their journeys long,

To see those velvet face.

Stunning large block of driftwood, and two smaller pieces of driftwood, all with lovely smoothed off edges from a life at sea! Now cleaned, sealed and housing a selection of  little handmade clay birds and seals, and is sat in a bed of resin. 

The birds include three gannets, four puffins, an artctic tern, a rock pigeon, two ringed plover a black backede gull and a herring gull. In addition there are three grey seals. 

Whilst this might be utterly exciting to children it sadly is not a toy and is intended solely as a decorative ornament for adults! (who lets be honest, will be as excited as a child to own such a thing of beauty!!).....just to add, this item is not for eating!

This item is a complete one of a kind, that can never be replicated because the design is fully dictated by the wood, which is a wholly natural product, chiselled by a life at sea. This, I find, adds a beautiful element to every piece, as each has had a life prior to it becoming part of my work, and their form, shaped by their journey enhances each creation.

~Just to note ~The resin makes this item pretty heavy compared to my usual items, which are generally light in wieght, as driftwood tends to be. 

Just to add, we are not able to identify the type of wood further than to say it is drift wood found on a UK beach.
