Along a weathered driftwood shore
where quiet stories gather,
three little puffins stand in bloom
through heather, moss, and feather.
 
They’ve claimed a patch of grass and thrift
like lairds of borrowed land,
and keep their watch on one small seal
who’s splashing close at hand.
 
He risen from a crystal pool
the colour of the Minch,
with whiskered grin and silver spots
and not a trace of flinch.
 
A starfish suns on emerald tufts,
the breeze smells salt and sweet,
and somewhere far a curlew calls
across the machair’s heat.
 
It’s only driftwood, tide, and light —
a simple island day —
yet hearts grow softer standing here
and seldom wish away.
 
So lean a little closer in,
let mainland worries slide —
for small wild things on weathered wood
keep magic in the tide.
 
Lovely driftwood with smoothed  edges from a life at sea! Now cleaned and housing three puffins and a grey seal lovingly created by hand from polymer clay.
 
Whilst this might be utterly exciting to children it sadly is not a toy and is intended solely as a decorative ornament for adults! (who lets be honest, will be as excited as a child to own such a thing of beauty!!).....just to add, this item is not for eating!

Just to add, we are not able to identify the type of wood further than to say it is drift wood found on a UK beach.
