And Mummy Duck said,
Don't go too far!
Stay close,
Stay safe,
Let me see where you are!
 
And most of the time they were good as gold!
All close by,
Doing as they're told!
 
But every now and then,
They'd play hide and seek,
In the reeds,
Behind bullrush,
You'd be lucky to spot a beak!
 
And mummy duck would say...
Quack quack quack quack!
And all of those little ducks...
Would come racing back! 
 
Lovely smooth piece of driftwood shaped by a life at sea! Now cleaned, sealed and housing a selection of  little handmade clay birds.
 
The birds include one female mallard duck with five ducklings, a heron, two wood pigeon and a magpie.  The branch is sat in a bed of resin with faux pond weed. Finished with miniature flora and forna. 
 
Whilst this might be utterly exciting to children it sadly is not a toy and is intended solely as a decorative ornament for adults! (who lets be honest, will be as excited as a child to own such a thing of beauty!!).....just to add, this item is not for eating!

This item is a complete one of a kind, that can never be replicated because the design is fully dictated by the wood, which is a wholly natural product, chiselled by a life at sea. This, I find, adds a beautiful element to every piece, as each has had a life prior to it becoming part of my work, and their form, shaped by their journey enhances each creation.
 
Just to add, we are not able to identify the type of wood further than to say it is drift wood found on a UK beach.
